The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG), established in 2001, and CDP, founded in 2000, have combined forces and published an interoperable map connecting CDP data to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). In July 2023, the European Commission adopted ESRS and its12 sustainability reporting standards across environmental, social, and governance issues. The ESRS implements the requirements for Europe's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Why It Matters
The comprehensive mapping details the high degree of interoperability between the CDP question bank and the European Sustainability Reporting Standard in relation to climate disclosures (ESRS E1).
ESRS E1 reporters will be better equipped to complete CDP disclosures, while CDP disclosing companies will be well prepared for ESRS E1 reporting requirements.
This initiative marks a crucial step in the CDP-EFRAG cooperation, which aims to create efficiency in the environmental data ecosystem.
Details The map links across 44 CDP and 269 ESRS criteria. Responsible Alpha applauds this reporting innovation as this enables systemic comparability across voluntary and regulatory reporting standards and empowers the 12 ESRS standards.
